Washington, D.C. joined a number of jurisdictions with a new sports betting law on the books in December 2018. The District of Columbia Council approved legislation allowing its lottery to administer legal sports betting within the boundaries of the federal jurisdiction.
Having already congratulated the DC Lottery on its sports betting launch, lottery supplier INTRALOT has announced that 2021 will see it launch its own digital sports betting solution in Washington DC. DC Lottery’s sports betting platform GambetDC, launched on May 28, offers responsible entertainment while generating revenue supporting public programs, services, and initiatives that benefit. That’s 3.5 times higher than the $3.9 million in handle GambetDC generated from DC sports betting that month. Gambet DC typically charges -118 on straight bets compared to -110 at Will Hill. And the disparity will only widen with the William Hill app available.

DC sports betting still has not launched as of March 2020. The lottery planned to start by April 2020 but decided to delay after the coronavirus pandemic shuttered all US sports.
